Candida and Candidiasis

A mild infection caused by the Candida (KAN-di-duh) fungus, which lives naturally in the gastrointestinal tract. Infection occurs when a change in the body, such as surgery, causes the fungus to overgrow suddenly.

Candida is a yeast/fungal type organism and it can supposedly shift between the two, which makes it a tenacious thing to get rid of.

Severe AIDS patients usually get it and also those with compromised immune systems.

Everyone has it, but it is kept in check in healthy individuals, through the natural bacteria--acidophillus, probiotics in the gut, etc...
